When is it enough
The strange thing about Faith, no not the religious kind, but more the faith that resides in ourselves, allow us to endure the most horrible undertakings and even in some cases the amount of awfulness in our surroundings and situations, we always somehow know that things will eventually get better.
Now what is that, we tend to look at things, almost in a sense that they can do whatever they think to do, but we will eventually just Be OK. In so many instances that I have read about torture in military war situations and the survivors (please note the selected word, not victims), the detainees tend to survive will endure the most horrifying treatments, on whatever is inside them, but the strange thing is that those people seem to grow stronger as the inevitable reacher closer.
We all saw the images of natural disasters, planes that fall out of the sky, even when 9/11 struck, we looked and when I spoke to people about the incident, I sensed not grief nor sadness, but hope. The one element of our survival that we can just not quantify, nor can be bottle it. But yet we all possess it. And we all know, we can not run out of it.
Coming back to faith, we believe in ourselves, in our community, our people, our traditions, our culture and above all in our survival. We know we will be OK. And come hell or high water we will look upon ourselves and see that thing we can not explain to our neighbor, but yet we do not fear, because they sense it too.
And with that we believe All is Well.
