Competetiveness

When competition is in play, we tend to look for the first place, we know that there is a niche that we can bring to the world that nobody is better at than us.

But instead of experiencing the joy of participation and give the "winners" their medals, we are saddened by the non-placement on the podium. We do not relish the excitement of the journey, but yet we are focused on the finishing line.

Their are those that say, take each step with care, that you do not falter over the stone, right in front of you, in order to reach the finishing line and yet we don't look down at the butterfly, softly embracing Life with each flapping of it's wings or bird that just aims higher towards the clouds of the unknown heavens or the tree ... with all the wisdom on how to grow, but no knowledge on how to create death.

We look towards the goal, but the wave as it grows, with the force of might Poseidon and the trident of Neptune as it builds in anger, attacking the beach with the might of a thousand bolts of Zeus. Slowly growing, growing and building to allow the smallest creature shiver in agonizing fear of the inevitability of death.
When the force becomes so much the soft power of our old Mother, calls it back and angrily it breaks upon the foundations of other waves, that has learned the lessons of the beach and is now slowly and calmly retreating back to the Source of the power of the ocean.
The thunderous crash is louder than the explosions of one hundred bomb, more deafening than the migration of wildebeest, so loud that the infant in the arm of it's parent clutches in fear of the sound of death.

With the anger rising from the wave now releasing the fear of losing, it foams, it hisses, it shakes ... and then softly runs on the earth of the beach, we the realization is made, the lesson is over.

With patient acceptance, pulls back, not retreat to the source, waiting for the experiences of another time, another beach, another wave.
